Passerby Grant Davis was on his way to a football match at Stamford Bridge last Thursday (April 3) when he spotted the alarming collection at the junction of Hortensia Road and Fulham Road.
Numerous photos of Lime bikes parked in unusual positions have appeared on social media in recent years, with many calling for action.
Grant, who is chairman of the London Cab Drivers Club, said: “This is becoming a familiar sight in London now. How can bikes be just ‘dumped’ for lack of a better word on pavements?
“With Lime, I don’t have to worry about going out at night – I feel safe and empowered.” 💚

“There is no consideration for other members of the community. Mums with kids, wheelchair users, why do Lime feel they can dump and where are our local councils in stopping this?
“I can’t dump rubbish on the streets, so why do they allow this to continue?”
The photo has since gained a lot of attention on X, with over 36,000 views.
Many commenters were quick to place blame on the football fans who were attending the Chelsea v Tottenham game.

“Events like football matches and good weather can lead to high usage and overcrowding due to demand for bikes exceeding the parking available.
“While this demand is positive and we try to plan for these high-usage events as best we can, we will review our current operations plan for Stamford Bridge on match days to help better manage such significant demand moving forward.
“We also work closely with our partners at Hammersmith & Fulham Council and will continue to collaborate to find appropriate new locations for more parking bays to help alleviate demand.”
