A casualty on the tracks was reported to police at around 10.40am today (January 15).
Paramedics also attended, however, the person was pronounced dead shortly after.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
National Rail confirmed that trains between Euston and Milton Keynes may be delayed by up to 120 minutes, cancelled or revised.
It has affected Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway services with disruption to last until 6pm.
All lines have since reopened following the incident.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Milton Keynes Central railway station at around 10.40am today (15 January) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
