Metropolitan Police officers were called to Elm Park Avenue just after midnight on Saturday (November 1) after reports of a robbery.
Once at the scene, officers discovered that 65-year-old man had been assaulted, left with a minor head injury, and had his watch stolen.
No arrests have been made at this stage but enquiries are ongoing, the Met confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Met said: “Police are investigating a robbery after a man was assaulted at around 12:25am on Saturday, November 1, on Elm Park Avenue, Hornchurch.
“Officers attended the scene.
“The victim, a 65-year-old man, had his watch stolen and suffered a minor head injury, he did not require hospital treatment.
“No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.”
