In this week’s episode of HELLO!’s Second Act podcast, sponsored by Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair, the actress and singer also opened up about her career and family life.
Despite spending the majority of her life in the spotlight, Patsy said she treasures the relationships she has with her two sons behind closed doors the most.
She shares James with Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr and Lennon with ex-husband Liam Gallagher.
When did Patsy Kensit become famous?
Kensit began her career as a child star, appearing in films including The Great Gatsby and Gold in 1974.
She also sang with the pop group Eighth Wonder in the 1980s and appeared in Emmerdale as Sadie King and Holby City as Faye Morton.
Patsy Kensit’s complicated relationship with money
Patsy explained her relationship with money has been complicated despite starring in Hollywood films such as Lethal Weapon 2.
She was badly advised, which resulted in her having to start from scratch in her 50s.
“I lost everything really, about five years ago,” she said. “I have more anxiety around it than you would ever believe. But you’ve just got to face things and work through them.”
Patsy Kensit would ‘love to go back to EastEnders’
Speaking with HELLO! about her career, Patsy said: “I’d love to go back to EastEnders. That, to me, was a dream job, and I was in a relationship at the time, and it wasn’t really a job that I was encouraged to take.
“I’ve wanted to be on that show for the last 40 years.”
She appeared in nine episodes of the BBC soap which “went really well”.
She added: “But unfortunately, I put life stuff first and I knew I’d regret it actually, when it happened”.
Six weeks ago, Patsy teased a new show on her Instagram profile, sharing: “Working late last night but squeezed in a meeting for a new show I’m shooting in September!!! The universe truly is great have a fantastic day”.
Now happily single, she is enjoying spending time with her female friends. She recently attended an intimate 60th birthday party for her long-term friend Elizabeth Hurley who has found love again with Billy Ray Cyrus.

Talking about their friendship, Patsy, who is godmother to Elizabeth’s son Damian, said: “Her and I just fell in love instantly. For her sixtieth, she’s got a beautiful place in the country. The whole family adopted me a little bit.”
The actress also opened up about losing her mother aged 22 to terminal cancer and her father spending time in prison.
