The incident happened in Parry Place just before 1.30pm today (March 27) near the busy A206 and Woolwich Station.
Emergency services attended and a man was rushed to hospital. His condition is not known at this stage.
A video posted on social media around an hour later shows paramedics treating a man lying on the road.
A cordon was put in place on the road following the incident.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.26pm today (27 March) to reports of a stabbing on Parry Place, SE18.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit.
“Our first paramedics arrived on scene in approximately four minutes.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
