A fire started in a room on the 12th floor of the Park Hotel, next to Hyde Park, around 9am today (April 1).

Part of a room in the 20-storey hotel was damaged by the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Chelsea, Kensington and Soho fire stations put out the fire around 10.15am.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a hotel in Knightsbridge this morning.
“A small part of a hotel room on the 12th floor of a 20 storey building was damaged by fire. Two men were suffering from smoke inhalation and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.
“The Brigade’s 999 Control officers received a call alerting them to the fire at 0906, they deployed crews from Chelsea, Kensington and Soho fire stations. The fire was under control by 1013.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
