Palmerston Road has been shut off by emergency services after the incident involving at least one car and a bus on Sunday (January 5) at 11.18am.
Ambulances were called to the scene and six patients were treated, two of whom were taken to hospital and discharged.
Images show a W15 bus next to a damaged car on the road.
It has been blocked off both ways from Mansfield Road to Melbourne Road, with queuing traffic around the general area.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.18am on Sunday 5 January to reports of a road traffic collision on Palmerston Road, Walthamstow.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).
“We treated six patients. We took two people to hospital and discharged the other four at the scene.”
The Metropolitan Police has been approached for comment.
