Coriander, in High Street, was crowned National Restaurant of the Year at the Euro Asia Curry Awards 2025.
The restaurant, which opened in May last year, is owned by the same group that owns Calcutta in Queens Way, Pettswood, which won the Best Newcomer Indian Restaurant in Kent award.
Co-owner, Makdad Khan, was also awarded the Best Businessman in Kent Award.
Mr Khan said they were delighted that Coriander won the top prize of the night.
He said: “It’s a fantastic recognition and makes all the hard work worth it.”
When asked what makes the restaurant stand out, Mr Khan said: “It’s a mix of everything – the décor that gives it a great atmosphere, the amazing food, and the fantastic service.”
The group will open a new eatery, Cumin Indian Restaurant in Falconwood Parade, Welling, on November 19.
The Euro Asia Curry Awards were founded nine years ago by Bangladeshi chef and businessman Shorif Khan.
More than 450 establishments were nominated from across the country, with around 60 winners announced in regional and national categories.

The Chef of the Year in Kent title went to Saildul Amin of Namaste Swanley, in High Street, Swanley.
The annual event honours the very best in the UK’s £3.5 billion curry industry, recognising top restaurants, takeaways, newcomers, and chefs.
This year’s ceremony was held on October 27 at the ILEC Conference Centre in West Brompton, London.

The founder, Shorif Khan, said: “It was wonderful to be back again this year to celebrate the fantastic businesses and people that make the UK curry industry as loved as it is.
“Despite the long-term impacts of the pandemic and rising costs, these restaurants and takeaways continue to offer incredible food, service, and value.
“What’s also very encouraging is that we’ve seen a lot of new openings in the past 12 months, many of which have been honoured at this year’s awards.”
