Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that bus route R6 that runs between Orpington and St Mary Cray will be withdrawn from Saturday March 29.
To maintain services on the route, bus number B14 will have its journey changed from the same date.
The bus will no longer use Cray Avenue when travelling between St Mary Cray station and Orpington High Street.
The frequency of route B14 will continue to be every 30 minutes during the daytime on Monday through to Saturday. Evening frequency will be increased to every 30 minutes.
The Sunday service will also change, with buses increased to run every 30 minutes from 6am until 12am.
TfL decided to change the two bus routes in May last year, but it has taken around 10 months for them to be implemented.
At the time, transport bosses also suggested alterations to routes R1, R2 and R3, but have since said that these will remain unchanged.
The new route of the B14 covers the following roads:
- Station Road
- Mill Brook Road
- Sandway Road
- Wotton Green
- Molash Road
- Sweeps Lane
- Okemore Gardens
- Blacksmith’s Lane
- Burrfield Drive
- Crockenhill Road
- Blacksmith’s Lane
- St Mary Cray High Street
- Kent Road
- Lower Road
- Orpington High Street
