The Orchard West team received the Excellence in Workforce Culture award at the UK Theatre Awards 2025.
Orchard West opened in 2023 through a partnership between Dartford Borough Council and Trafalgar Theatres.
The original Orchard Theatre has been shut since September 2023 for essential renovations, including roof replacement and other upgrades with Orchard West being the temporary venue which has been operating during the closure.
The award marks the third major win for Orchard West and its team, following recent honours including Innovation of the Year at The Stage Awards 2025 and Temporary Structure of the Year at the Festival Supplier Awards.
Tal Rosen, theatre director, said: “Winning this award is a testament to the extraordinary resilience and dedication of The Orchard Theatre team.
“When The Orchard Theatre was forced to close, our staff, together with Dartford Borough Council and Trafalgar Entertainment, turned challenge into opportunity, creating Orchard West and building a stronger, more united workforce.
“We’re incredibly proud that this has been recognised by SOLT and UK Theatre, whose unwavering continued support and focus for people and culture across our industry is truly inspiring.”
Theatre staff said they look forward to reopening The Orchard Theatre and welcoming audiences once the renovations are complete in 2025.
They said the improvements will ensure the venue remains accessible and operational for years to come.
