Firefighters were first called to Ondine Road today (March 21) at 3.12pm due to a van being alight.
According to he London Fire Brigade, the vehicle has been completely destroyed.
One fire engine attended and the fire was under control by 4.04pm
Footage taken shortly after 3.20pm today has captured them in action, hosing off a van with flames protruding from its roof as it sits parked near to the entrance of the road, just beyond the junction with Grove Vale.
Thick black smoke can be seen from surrounding roads, attracting the attention of pedestrians at a neighbouring bus stop.
The blaze is believed to be ongoing just a short distance from a Shell petrol station.
