Ollie L’Aimable, or ‘Ollie the Car Kid’, who has more than 450,000 social media followers for his car-spotting videos, headed to the House of Commons last Thursday (June 26) to receive a Global Child Prodigy 2025 award.

Only one adult was allowed in per child so Ollie attended with his dad Pierre after being waved off by his mum and two younger sisters.

Ollie said: “I was very excited because not many kids get to go into the House of Commons.

“It was so fun.

Pierre said the security was “very strict” and reminded him of airport security.

Ollie was amongst the first names to be called out to receive their award.

Ollie’s journey began shortly after Covid restrictions were lifted when Pierre wanted to show him the real-life versions of the cars he was playing with on the video game series Forza.

Pierre previously told the Recorder: “I hated him playing it and being stuck in front of a TV so once restrictions got eased, I told him I could show him the cars in real-life and I took him into central London.

“The first car we saw was a Ferrari and I recorded his reaction which was phenomenal.

“I thought to myself that other people might want to see this so we created an Instagram page and within a week of making the account public, he had 10,000 followers.

“I was mind-blown.”

Pierre said he was very proud to see Ollie receive this award and can’t wait to see what he achieves next.

“I’d love to see him presenting and winning awards each year – I’d love to see him as the next Ant and Dec,” Pierre said.

“I never force him into anything – if he wakes up and says he doesn’t want to go car spotting then then we’ll just chill out instead.”
