The consummate performer wooed a packed out 65,000-strong crowd with how London was her favourite city, she’d had a lot of “special moments in this park,” and this was her “dream gig”.
An audience ranging from dutiful dads and cool mums to pre-teens in glittery min-skirts, and gaggles of cowboy boot-clad teenage girls lapped it up as Rodrigo took to the stage in her own sequinned tassly two-piece and stompy boots.

Just as you thought she might have blown the best early, the bangers just kept coming.
An female-strong backing band let rip with rock guitar riffs and drum solos but the choruses about lousy boyfriends, heartache and teenage angst were ripe for a singalong, and the crowd around us joined in with every word.
In between Rodrigo raced and skipped along the runway, never missing a beat of the likes of Jealousy Jealousy and Favourite Crime while exhorting a crowd decked out in her trademark purple: “You guys, I have a really special feeling about tonight. Are we ready to have a good f***ing time?”

“It’s such a magical night and we get to watch the sunset together. It’s nights like this that are so special I have to pinch myself. I do think London is my favourite place right now.”
Returning in a pair of hot pants and a white t-shirt the 22-year-old delivered a string of hits; Brutal, All American Bitch, Good 4 U and Get Him Back.
Accompanied by puffs of flame and confetti cannons it sent the crowd out into the night dazed with delight and if it needed it, catapulted Rodrigo from Disney princess to bona fide rockstar.
Glastonbury get ready.
