North Street was closed at 12pm on Monday (January 5) to allow for Thames Water to begin work.
According to the AA, water main works are being undertaken along North Street from Burnway to the A124 High Street.
Works are expected to be completed by midnight on January 25 but until then, drivers have been warned of “likely delays” along the main route.

Drone photos taken yesterday morning (January 7) show a section of North Street fenced off, including a square hole in the road, with a blue fencing perimeter.
A ‘road closed’ sign can also been seen as well as multiple road cones.
A total of four vehicles were pictured: a blue pickup truck, a white truck, a white excavator digger and a green truck which appears to be carrying a yellow tank.

Three people wearing high visibility suits can be seen working on the site and a skip and portable toilet appear to be placed within the blue fencing.
Multiple bus services, including routes 165, 256, 370, and 646 have been placed on diversions due to the road closure.
Transport for London has confirmed that the affected services are on diversion in both directions, with stops from Queen’s Theatre to Burnway not being served in either direction.
