The incident happened in North Road at around 2pm yesterday (October 26).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital in London.
The air ambulance landed in nearby Victoria Recreation Ground to provide assistance.
The condition of the man is not known at this stage – nor if there have been any arrests.
The Met Police has been contacted for more information.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called yesterday (Sun 26) at 2.01pm to reports of a stabbing in North Road, Surbiton.
“We sent resources including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance.
“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a London major trauma centre.”
