The A406 North Circular was closed in Chingford, with severe delays from Chingford Road and Woodford New Road yesterday (March 12) due to a police incident.
Officers tried stopping a car at 4.05pm as the man in the car was suspected to be wanted by police.
However, the car did not stop and officers chased the car down the busy road.
The driver eventually stopped close to Crooked Billet and he then fled on foot.
He then reportedly tried climbing a tall wall on the A406 before falling down and being arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
