Officers were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man in Norman Crescent on the evening of October 19.
Roman-Vien Klimas was found dead inside the address.
His mum, Irene Webb, was arrested at the address and has been charged with murder.
The 50-year-old appeared at Chelmsford Crown court on October 22 and has been remanded in custody.
Webb will appear at the same court for a hearing on November 17.

Roman’s family are receiving support from specialist officers.
Detective Inspector James Holmes said: “Roman’s family remain devastated and are struggling to come to terms with what has happened.
“I would please call for their privacy to be respected and for the public to refrain from sharing speculation or commentary which could cause further unnecessary upset.”
