The works, carried out by Essex & Suffolk Water, got underway in Noak Hill Road yesterday (January 8).
Noak Hill Road forms a significant stretch of the northern diversion route for motorists affected by the ongoing Gallows Corner works, the completion of which has been pushed back until spring this year.
Two-way traffic control is in place near to the junction with The Mount, with road users warned that “delays are likely” until the water works are finished.
The completion date for these ongoing works is not expected for almost two weeks’ time, reopening at 11.59pm on January 21.
