Emergency services were called to Prince Regent Lane, near the junction with Glen Road, at 6.12pm on September 6.
Police, paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance attended, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police confirmed no other vehicles were involved.
Road closures were put in place and bus routes were diverted.
A blue forensics tent was erected in the lane, just up from the junction with Glen Road.
