Ofsted has moved to using a new ‘report card’ method for school ratings but business solutions company PE analysed its ratings across England.
Its research revealed 32.04 per cent of schools in Newham are rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, higher than anywhere else in the country.
A total of 33 of Newham’s 103 schools achieved the highest result possible in their latest Ofsted reports.

Councillor Sarah Ruiz, cabinet member for environment, sustainable transport, children’s services and education in Newham said: “We are incredibly proud of our whole school family in Newham; the heads, the teachers, the carers, the staff and governors and of course, the pupils.
“Their collective hard work and dedication continues to deliver incredible opportunities and outcomes for our young people.
“It is our aim to make Newham the best place to live and grow up, and the role of education and our schools cannot be underestimated when it comes to giving our young people the best chance to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.”
The rest of the top five boroughs with the highest rate of ‘outstanding’ schools were all in London: Haringey, Islington, Hammersmith and Fulham and Richmond Upon Thames.
