The 1st Nazeing Scout Group is opening a new troop for 10 to 14-year-olds.
This group will help the youngsters “develop useful skills,” and be part of a team that always has a backup plan.
The scouts will engage in hundreds of activities, ranging from abseiling and coding to drama and water-zorbing.
The majority of scouts reported trying new activities, feeling happier, and developing valuable skills after joining.

Chief scout, adventurer, and TV presenter, Dwayne Fields, is “incredibly pleased” by the expansion.
He said: “The new scout troop means we will now have more young people in the local community making friends, building their confidence, and gaining skills that will prepare them for life and work.
“When I was young, as quite a shy kid, I remember walking into my local scout meeting place and getting such a warm welcome.
“I found people who believed in me, and that helped me believe in myself.
“This set me on a path to adventure – taking me to Antarctica, the Galapagos Islands, and even the North Pole.”
Mr Fields highlighted the importance of volunteers in the scouts, saying they were “inspirational” and served as “role models” for him and other scouts.
He added: “In scouts, we’re so proud to help young people step up, speak up, and do their best.
“But for this to happen, we need more volunteers to step forward.”
The 1st Nazeing Scout Group is seeking volunteers to assist with their activities.
According to Mr Fields, volunteering is helps people build skills and wellbeing, supports the community, and can be done on a flexible basis.
No special skills are required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to help.
The scouts meet at the 1st Nazeing Scout HQ, Perry Hill, Nazeing EN9 2LL.
Anyone interested in joining or volunteering can contact Bushrah for more information at bushrah.sajid-aziz@harlowscouts.org.uk.
A massive thank you was extended by Mr Fields to the community of Nazeing for making a difference in young lives and bringing people together.
