Ollie Harley previously worked at the Chelsea branch of upmarket butchers Provenance for eight years, but is now putting his name above the door of a new venture in Oriel Place.
Posting on Instagram he described Harley’s Butchery and Rotisserie as a “brand new butchery concept”.
He added: “Set on the cobbled street of Bakers Passage Oriel Place, Harley’s opens its doors this May, We look forward to sharing our journey and are thrilled to reside in one of the most beautiful parts of London.”
Ollie has also advertised for a skilled rotisserie chef to cook the chickens, revealing that the store will be “offering the residents of Hampstead exceptional meats from all over the world alongside a custom built rotisserie and charcuterie from Rotisol.”
“It is a very impressive piece of kit and we need an experienced chef to manage and help develop our concept.”
Independent grocers Melrose and Morgan started out in Primrose Hill in 2004 and went into liquidation in June 2024.
It closed down both its sites with the Gloucester Terrace branch becoming a Gail’s bakery – although the brand continues online under former head chef Mauro Mateo.
Hampstead folk who are still mourning the demise of Steeles’ butchers some years ago will rejoice to see a second butcher opening in the village joining The Hampstead Butcher and Providore.
