The New Addington Community Diagnostic Centre was launched following a £14 million investment in two centres for south Croydon.
It is designed to improve access to vital health services outside traditional hospital settings, cutting waiting times and easing pressure on hospitals.
Mr Streeting said: “I was delighted to open Croydon’s new Community Diagnostic Centre today, marking a year since we set out our Elective Reform Plan.
“This new facility brings quicker, more convenient tests and scans right into the heart of the community – meaning people can get the care they need closer to home.
“It’s centres like this that are driving our mission to cut waiting lists and get the NHS working for patients again.”

The centre offers tests including ultrasound, X-ray, and CT scans, as well as imaging, cardiology, and respiratory services. It also includes a GP practice, run by Bourne Health, to offer a more joined-up approach to care.
Matthew Kershaw, chief executive at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, said: “The new CDC will make a real difference to our residents, providing faster, more convenient tests and improving early diagnosis and treatment.
“As well as fast-tracking access to vital tests, such as x-rays, CT scans and cardiology screening to help detect serious illness sooner, a diagnostic centre in New Addington will help to prevent the worsening of existing health issues and increase access to health ensure our patients receive the care they need as quickly as possible, in a place that suits them.”
Omar Din, CEO at Bourne Health, said: “As an experienced provider of primary care services in New Addington, and more widely across Croydon and Surrey, we understand the unique health challenges facing local people.
“The joining up of our GP practice with Croydon’s second diagnostic centre gives us the opportunity to create a more seamless, integrated experience of NHS care for local people.”
