Rapper TZ Da Ceo shared a video with more than 200,000 views, promising free food to any school kids who came to the chicken shop in Erith Road at 4pm on Friday (July 11).
But he cancelled the event the next day after police “shut it down”, with the force announcing temporary powers to prevent anti-social behaviour at the planned time.
Schools issued messages to parents warning them of the event and urging children not to attend.
One message that was sent to a mother by her daughter’s school was shared online.

It reads: “We strongly advise you to speak with your child about not attending or going near the area around Morley’s Chicken Shop on Friday afternoon.
“While this may appear to be a harmless or fun event, gatherings of this nature can quickly become unsafe and disruptive.”(Image: Google)
It added that police were planning to close the shop on Friday afternoon, although this has not been confirmed by the Met Police.
One parent who received the email described “chaos” at a previous similar event in Woolwich, advising others to “avoid the area”.

Morley’s in Erith Road told the News Shopper that the event was organised by an independent person and the shop was not involved in its organisation.
It added that the shop may close on Friday afternoon after being contacted by the police but it was not yet confirmed.
Met Police officers have been temporarily granted extra powers to crack down on antisocial behaviour at the time and location of the planned event.
A section 35 dispersal order will apply to Bexleyheath town centre from 2pm on Friday to 2pm the next day.
The order is a temporary measure that allows police officers to direct individuals to leave a specified area and not return for up to 48 hours.
In his original video, Rapper TZ Da Ceo posed outside Morley’s with staff promising “free chicken and chips to all the schoolchildren”.
Staff members told the camera “don’t miss out”.
The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment.
