The electric vehicle was left in pieces at the junction of Mile End Road and Harford Street around 5.30pm on Sunday (March 16).
Seven people were hurt – including the driver and six pedestrians – and two of those were rushed to hospital.
It ended up smashing into traffic lights where shocked onlookers were left gawping at the wreckage.
There have been no arrests.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “We attended a road traffic collision involving a car and multiple pedestrians in Mile End Road, E3 at 17:26hrs on Sunday, 16 March.

“Seven people – the driver of the car and six pedestrians – were treated at the scene and were later taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where their injuries were deemed non-life-changing or life-threatening.
“No arrests were made and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.26pm on Sunday to reports of a road traffic collision in Mile End Road, E1
“We sent a number of resources to the scene including three ambulance crews. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance in a car.
“The first paramedic arrived in less than seven minutes.”
“We treated seven patients at the scene and took them all to hospital. Two of these patients were taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson added: “Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Sunday.
“One car was in collision with a lamppost and a traffic light.”
