Michael Rosen, who lives in Muswell Hill and grew up in Harrow, will begin his birthday tour on May 4 at the Rose Theatre in Kingston.
Titled NICE!, the family-friendly show revisits some of his most famous poems, including Hot Food, No Breathing, and Chocolate Cake, and also features new work from his latest collection, Peas On Your Knees.

Mr Rosen said: “I am so looking forward to doing this ‘NICE’ show.
“It’s a way for families and me to enjoy together the poems and stories I’ve written with lots of laughter and joining-in.
“(It’s also my 80th birthday year but don’t tell anyone…).”
Mr Rosen has written more than 200 books and is known for his ability to find humour and hope in even the most serious subjects.
In 2023, Pen Pinter Award Judge Amber Massie Bloomfield said: “Michael Rosen has a rare, invaluable gift: the ability to address the most serious matters of life in a spirit of joy, humour and hope.”
As well as his writing and performances, Rosen is a professor of children’s literature at Goldsmith’s University, and has presented the Radio 4 programme Word of Mouth since 1998.
