Tuesday, December 16, promises a grey and chillier day, with persistent cloud cover and a 30 per cent to 40 per cent chance of drizzle around dawn.
Temperatures are forecasted to peak at just around 10°C.
A brighter, though brief, start is anticipated for Wednesday, December 17, with some sunshine from around 9am to the early afternoon.
However, the sun will give way to increased cloud later, with rain chances surging to between 70 per cent and 80 per cent by late evening.
Thursday, December 18, will be the wettest day of the week.
Rain, sometimes heavy, is expected before dawn and is set to stay for most of the day with temperatures on either side of 11°C.
London’s weather is expected to clear considerably by Friday, December 19.
The cloud will lift by mid-morning, paving the way for sunshine and a peak temperature of about 10°C.
The area can look forward to a dry day, although it will be notably cooler.
The sun, however, lasts into the afternoon.
