Earlier this week, the branch on Old Kent Road, which is owned and operated by franchisee Claude Abi-Gerges, reopened after a ‘Convenience of the Future’ redesign.
McDonald’s is changing the layout of its restaurants to keep up with how people are ordering food.
More customers are using digital options like the McDonald’s app, so the company is redesigning kitchens and dining areas to better support this.
Walk-in and Drive Thru services will still be available, but the front counter is being removed.
Instead, there will be separate areas for different types of orders to help speed up service and give customers more space to eat.
Crew rooms are being redesigned to give workers a more comfortable place to take breaks.
Claude Abi-Gerges, who owns and operates 37 McDonald’s restaurants in London, said: “I’m delighted to be reinvesting in our Old Kent Road restaurant.
“The refreshed dining area has a modern, welcoming design, and we’ve introduced dedicated spaces for dine-in guests and couriers to create a smoother experience for everyone.
“It’s great to see the transformation, and I’m confident these improvements will enhance the experience for both our customers and our team.”
