The 64-year-old was rushed to the hospital and left with his fingers bandaged up following the incident.
Martin’s son, Roman Kemp, later told listeners of his podcast that his dad was lucky he wasn’t left “fingerless” after using the chainsaw.
Now, Martin has taken to social media to share a health update with fans to reassure them that he is recovering safely at home.

Sharing a video on Instagram, Martin said: “Hey guys, just a little message, you might have seen in a paper that I had a terrible accident with a chainsaw, which I did, but it was last week. I’m a lot better now.
“I appreciate your concerns, and listen, it’s getting better by the minute, but I will explain how it happened another time. But just to reassure you, I am all right.”
Roman previously told details of his dad’s accident on his podcast You About with Tom Grennan.
Sharing: “I’d just finished work and looked at my phone and dad sent a picture of his hand with all fingers heavily strapped up.

“And all he writes underneath in the family WhatsApp group is ‘Yep… chainsaw’.”
Roman added that his dad eventually told his family how the accident happened: “‘So he said ‘Oh there was a bit of the branch that we wanted chopping down so I went and got a chainsaw’.”
As the young TV host added, “He’s 65. He’s got more than enough dough. Get a professional in, you can’t be doing that.”
