Vistry Group has welcomed its first residents to The Granada, the latest building at the Feature17 development, part of the long-term transformation of the Marlowe Road Estate.
The Granada will deliver 44 new one, two, and three-bedroom apartments as part of the final phase of the decade-long project, which began in 2016 and is set for completion in 2027.
Kevin Delve, managing director for Vistry East London, said: “Feature17 is a great example of what can be achieved when public and private sectors come together with a shared commitment to make a difference for local residents.
“Having started the regeneration back in 2016, we are incredibly proud of the progress made, which demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes and regenerating communities in partnership with Waltham Forest Council.
“We’re excited to welcome these first new residents to the final phase of the development and showcase what this vibrant community has to offer.”
The Granada includes two new show homes and adds to the 47 shared ownership homes already handed over to Waltham Forest Council earlier this year.
Five four-bedroom social rent houses have now also been handed over, with a further 42 social rent homes expected to complete this winter.
To date, Vistry Group has delivered 331 homes at Feature17, including 145 ‘affordable’ units, split between social rent and shared ownership.
Once the final phase is complete, the development will total 258 homes, including 146 for private sale, 47 for shared ownership, and 65 for ‘affordable’ rent.
The wider project has been delivered in partnership with Waltham Forest Council.
Cllr Ahsan Khan, deputy leader and cabinet member for housing and regeneration at Waltham Forest Council, said: “The regeneration of the Marlowe Road Estate is about more than just building homes, it’s about creating a thriving, inclusive community where families can flourish.”
New amenities delivered as part of the scheme include Wood Street Library, a café, Co-op supermarket, post office, children’s playground, and a multi-use games area.
