Shiv Callicharan, 44, has been charged with sexual assault of a girl under 13 by touching and knowingly trespassing on a premises with the intent to commit a sexual offence.
He appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday (March 31) and has been remanded in custody.
Police were alerted about an incident where a girl was allegedly approached in a lift in Wembley on Sunday (March 30).
Callicharan was then arrested and charged shortly after officers were called.
He will appear at Harrow Crown Court at a later date.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A man has been charged with sexual assault of a girl under 13 by touching and knowingly/recklessly trespassing on a premises with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence.
“Shiv Callicharan, age 44, of no fixed address appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 31 March and was remanded in custody. He next appears at Harrow Crown Court at a date and time to be fixed.
“This follows an incident that took place on Sunday, 30 March where a girl was allegedly approached in a lift of a building in Wembley.
“A 44-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards and charged as above.
“The victim and her family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
