Kevin Rees, 63, of Harcout Avenue in Sidcup, is charged with causing an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property.
He was charged following a counter-terror investigation after a low-sophistication improvised explosive device (IED) damaged a camera on Willersley Avenue in Sidcup on December 6, 2024.
Rees was reported to be suffering from ill health but Woolwich Crown Court heard on Wednsday, January 7, that two doctors found that he is fit to plead and fit to participate in court proceedings.
He will be asked to enter a plea to the charge on Friday, January 9, with a trial set to take place the following Monday if he denies the charge.
Last October the man who cut down the ULEZ camera before it was destroyed was sentenced to a community order.
Stephen Harwood-Stamper, 63, used an angle grinder to cut down the camera.
