Affinity Water will begin the work later this month on the A404 and A4005 Harrow Road between Crawford Avenue and Cheshunt Avenue.
The project aims to improve water resilience for current customers and support planned and approved housing developments by installing a new water main.
Steve Plumb, director of asset strategy and capital delivery at Affinity Water, said: “We know it’s never ideal to have work happening near your home, but this upgrade will help us protect and improve water services for Wembley residents for many years to come.
“We’re grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding while our teams carry out this important work.”
The works are scheduled to start on Thursday, October 23, 2025, and are expected to finish by Monday, May 4, 2026.
To minimise disruption during the Christmas period, the site will be closed and cleared from December 19, 2025 until January 6, 2026, with all traffic management measures temporarily removed.
Temporary multi-way traffic lights will be used along the A404 to maintain safe traffic flow, and some side road closures will be in place.
These plans have been coordinated with the London Borough of Brent and local transport teams to minimise disruption as much as possible.
Work will take place Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm, with some weekend activity where required.
The project will be completed in phases, with updates available online as it progresses.
Affinity Water has assured residents that access to their properties will be maintained throughout the works, and no planned water supply interruptions are expected.
If temporary supply interruptions do become necessary, residents will be notified in advance.
The company, which supplies water to more than 3.9 million people across the South East, has served the community for more than 170 years.
