Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called at 6am today (January 21) with reports of a single vehicle collision on the M25.
The incident happened between junction 29 and junction 30 anti-clockwise near Romford and Basildon.
There were no reports of any injuries, though traffic was severely impacted by the crash.
Motorists were warned by National Highways of “severe delays” of more than 90 minutes.
Traffic was queueing for more than nine miles, with congestion reaching through the Dartford Tunnel.

A man was reported for driving without due care and attention.
A Met spokesperson said: “Around 06:00hrs on Tuesday, 21 January, police responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the M25, between Junction 29 and Junction 30.
“A man was reported for driving without due care and attention. No one was injured in the collision.”
