The crash, between a white Yamaha motorcycle and a purple McLaren, happened on the M2 in Medway at around 2.30pm yesterday (March 9).
Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction on the coastbound carriageway of the M2, between junctions 3 and 4.
Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead.
Officers say the purple McLaren failed to stop but was later found and the driver was arrested in connection with the crash.
He currently remains in custody while inquiries continue.
The coastbound carriageway remained closed throughout the afternoon but reopened just after 9pm.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Officers investigating a fatal collision on the M2 near Medway are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“At around 2.30pm on Sunday 9 March 2025, a white Yamaha motorcycle was involved in a collision with a purple McLaren car as they travelled in the same direction on the coastbound carriageway of the M2.
“The collision took place between junctions 3 and 4.
“Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his thirties, was confirmed deceased at the scene.
“The car failed to stop at the scene but was later found by police and the driver was arrested in connection with the collision. He currently remains in custody while enquiries continue.”
