Police were called to Longhill Road, near Forster Park in south east London, at 6.30pm on Friday (April 4) following reports of an altercation between two men.
At the scene, a man in his 30s was found with stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital, where his injuries have been assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.
Officers arrested a 56-year-old man from Hackney at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent and he was taken into custody.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Around 18:30hrs on Friday, 4 April, officers attended Longhill Road, Lewisham, following reports of an altercation between two men.
“They attended alongside the London Ambulance Service.
“Upon arrival, they found a man in his 30s suffering from stab wounds.
“He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.
“A 56-year-old man from Hackney was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent.”
