The teenager was taken to hospital after police were called to Longbridge Road on Tuesday (March 11) at 9.02am.
His condition is not thought to be life-threatening or changing.
Police then arrested four boys on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
Three of these suspects have been charged and remanded into custody.
They are appearing at Barkingside Magistrates’ youth court today (March 12).
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 09:02hrs on Tuesday, 11 March to Longbridge Road, Dagenham following reports of an assault.
“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service and a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with stab wounds. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening or changing.
“Four boys have since been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause GBH Possession of an offensive weapon. Three boys have since been charged and remanded into custody.
“They will appear at Barkingside Magistrates court (youth) on Wednesday, 12 March.”
