The Spread Eagle is London’s most “f****d” pub, according to a news website that has compiled the “100 most-at-risk” pubs in the capital.
As is the case with many pubs and small businesses across Britain, an increase in business rates, electricity bills, and minimum wage rises are “just one pressure” that is causing helplessness.
The site, IsMyPubF****d.com, shines a light on downfalls in the industry and helps the British public find pubs that need support.
The Spread Eagle in Wandsworth has been crowned London’s most “f****d” pub, with the Beaten Docket in Cricklewood rated as second most at risk.
The Dog and Bell in Deptford came third on the list and Brockley’s Wickham Arms rounded off the top four.
There could be some respite for these pubs, with the government expected to change the way business rates are calculated, resulting in smaller rises to bills.
