It comes as many travellers shared that they’ve recently noticed an increase in people not allowing others off a Tube train before getting on themselves.
Taking to the Reddit group, r/London one user posted: “We need to re-normalise letting everyone off the Tube carriage before getting on.”
Adding that they would take away someone’s ‘Londoner card’ for the act: “If I see you push to get on before everyone else has gotten off I’m liable to take away your Londoner card on the spot. It’s a bad habit and you lot that do it are not valid here..”

Although unknown by many, the TfL bylaws state: “No person shall enter through any train door until any person leaving by that door has passed through it.”
However, many travellers agree with the complaint brought up by the Reddit user and are calling for TfL to remind travellers of the act.

Agreeing with the complaint, one Reddit user said: “This. And its unwritten rule number ONE.
“It’s just basic manners when a train is full and someone is being thoughtful in helping people get off.”
Another Lononder said: “This annoys me SO MUCH. It’s basic physics – you cannot enter the space until there is space for you in the space.
“Common sense is lacking in some people…”
Others suggested that London as a whole has become more impatient in the last five years, writing: “People have become so much more impatient and rude…
