This comes as major railway upgrades will bring significant disruption to services in and out of London Waterloo during the festive period.
No trains will run to or from Waterloo from December 27 to December 28, with services terminating at Clapham Junction.
This is due to improvement works taking place between Queenstown Road and Nine Elms junction.
From December 29 to January 4, a reduced timetable will be in operation.
Queenstown Road station will be closed throughout the works, and Vauxhall station will be shut from December 27 to December 30, reopening on New Year’s Eve, but closing again on January 1.
George Murrell, route renewals director for Network Rail, said: “We are advising passengers to plan ahead and use alternative routes into the capital between Christmas and New Year.
“We are sorry for the disruption this closure between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction will cause however these works will provide a more reliable journey for everyone who travels on one of the country’s busiest railways.”
The engineering project, involving more than 350 engineers, will see the renewal of track, switches and crossings, along with the conductor rail.
Queenstown Road station platforms will also be modified to accommodate the new track layout.
The works will include strengthening the railway’s foundations with new ballast and sleepers, and upgrading the electric power supply to trains.
No train services will run on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, as is standard each year.
Passengers are advised to check before travelling, as ticket acceptance will be in place on alternative routes.
Details will be available on the National Rail Enquiries and South Western Railway websites.
Network Rail has apologised for the inconvenience but stressed the long-term benefits of the upgrades.
Travellers are encouraged to plan ahead during the affected period.
Timetables for the revised services will be published from October 3.
Network Rail said passengers can find more information about the works by visiting its dedicated project webpage.
