London Fire Brigade confirmed its crews were called to a smell of smoke at the station at around 9.30am.
Trains between the country’s fourth-busiest station and Clapham Junction were disrupted due to the incident.
The cause of the incident is not yet known and an investigation has been launched.
The lines have since been reopened and National Rail have confirmed that trains will return to normal by 10.30am.
