A casualty on the tracks was reported near Walthamstow shortly before 7am yesterday (March 13).
Officers and paramedics attended, however, the person was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police are currently working to establish the full circumstances behind the person’s death.
The incident caused major delays to trains to and from London Liverpool Street and Stansted.
All services have since returned to normal.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to an area of the line in Walthamstow this morning (Thursday) shortly before 7am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently working to establish the full circumstances behind the person’s death.”
