The alleged rape was initially reported to the Metropolitan Police in Pollard Square Gardens, Whitechapel, shortly after 6.30pm on December 5.
Pollard Square Gardens was partially taped off.
However, an update from a Met spokesperson has now revealed that the force has registered the reports to London Fields, Hackney, following further investigations.
A woman in her 20s is being supported by specialist officers.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on December 6 and taken into custody.

He has since been charged with rape.
Krishnan Singh, of no fixed abode, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on December 8.
Singh has been remanded to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 6, 2026.
