Route 452 historically runs between Kensal Rise station in Brent and Vauxhall station.
But roadworks in 2022 on the northern stretch of its route led to TfL starting and finishing services from Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury’s, and this has continued ever since.
Transport bosses have now proposed curtailing the route even further, so that services only operate between Vauxhall station and Notting Hill Gate.
They claim that passenger numbers on the route between Knightsbridge and Ladbroke Grove are down from before the pandemic.
To offset the loss of service, it is proposed that an extra journey will run on route 52 during the evening peak to meet passenger demand.
This bus route runs between Willesden and Victoria station, and shares its route with the 452 between Kensal Rise and Knightsbridge.
TfL has said these changes will help to “manage resources better to match passenger demand on the bus network”.
A consultation on the proposals closes today (December 13).
