Network Rail has opened 38 new toilets at the station, converting two former retail units on Stainer Street into additional facilities.
These new toilets will operate alongside the existing ones, significantly increasing the station’s overall provision.
The facilities include a mix of female, male, and unisex units.
The new accessible toilets are designed to improve access for those with non-visible disabilities.
Additionally, the step-free entry to accessible toilets and baby changing areas aims to make it easier for people with impaired mobility, the elderly, and parents with children.
This investment was driven by passenger feedback, which indicated that the existing toilets did not meet the needs of the number of passengers using the busy station.
Cem Davis, Network Rail station manager for London Bridge, said: “As part of our wider investment to modernise stations and give people a better experience, we are delighted to have opened the new toilets, which has almost doubled toilet capacity at the station.
“The new toilets include a mix of male and female facilities.
“New and roomier toilets have been installed for passengers with non-visible disabilities, and a new accessible toilet and baby changing facility is provided for people with impaired mobility, the elderly, and parents with children.
“The new facilities provide a much more pleasant experience for customers and have been designed to better meet the needs of all passengers at this busy station.
“We were delighted to have them opened in time for the London Marathon.”
