Born in Dulwich in 1960, Lisa Vanderpump trained in drama at the Corona Academy in west London before becoming a reality TV icon.
Lisa appeared in multiple films and TV shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including A Touch of Class and Silk Stalkings.
However, she rose to international fame after appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010, where she quickly became a fan favourite thanks to her sharp wit, opulent lifestyle, and love of pink.
Lisa starred in the show’s first nine seasons and was known for her strong friendships, sharp one-liners, and ongoing feuds, including high-profile fallouts with cast members like Brandi Glanville, Kyle Richards, and Dorit Kemsley.
She was often seen at the helm of lavish parties, managing her restaurants, and doting on her many dogs, especially her beloved Pomeranian, Giggy, who became a star in his own right.
In later seasons, tensions between Lisa and the rest of the cast reached a breaking point during a storyline known as “Puppygate,” which dominated season 9 and ultimately led to Lisa’s decision to leave the show in 2019.
She has since focused on her spin-off series Vanderpump Rules, which follows the lives of staff working at her restaurants in West Hollywood.
In 2023, Vanderpump Rules made global headlines during the “Scandoval” scandal, where longtime cast member Tom Sandoval was caught cheating on his partner Ariana Madix with her best friend Raquel Leviss.
The controversy dominated social media and brought renewed attention to the show, with Lisa often playing the role of mediator and voice of reason.
Beyond television, Lisa has continued to expand her business empire, opening additional venues like Vanderpump à Paris in Las Vegas and becoming a fixture on the U.S. hospitality scene.
She’s also a dedicated animal welfare advocate, launching the Vanderpump Dog Foundation in 2016, and was instrumental in campaigning against the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China.
Lisa has been married to Ken Todd since 1982, and the couple have a daughter, Pandora.
