The chain has confirmed to this paper that the branch in Leyton Mills Retail Park closed its doors for the final time last Sunday (October 19).
The site opened its doors initially in August 2023.
An anonymous Facebook user posted in a public Leyton group and said: “Does anyone know why Starbucks has now closed?
“I was so happy when we got one here and now it’s gone.”
The post has amassed more than 60 comments, with some calling the closure a “shame” whilst others expressed preference for other high street brands.
One commenter wrote: “I think the location was probably an issue.
“Not visible from the high street and out of the way for almost all commuters.”
A Starbucks spokesperson said: “We regularly review our portfolio to ensure our stores are relevant for our customers.
“Our Leyton Mills Retail Park Store closed on Sunday, October 19 and we thank our customers for their loyalty over the years and invite them to find their nearest store on the Starbucks store locator.”
Other nearby Starbucks branches include in Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford and in High Road, Walthamstow.
