The annual contest, sponsored by Glendale, encourages residents to showcase their gardening talents.
The initiative aims to highlight the importance of gardening and floral displays for physical and mental well-being, biodiversity, and sustainable environmental practices.

The categories for 2025 include Best Wildlife Garden, Best Front Garden, Best Containers, Best Community Garden, and Best Business.
Schools can also participate in the Best Containers, Best Wildlife Garden, and Best Community Garden categories.
Winners will receive National Garden Vouchers, and the Overall Best in Show will be awarded a new Lewisham in Bloom Award.

Judges will assess entries based on sustainability, space/design, planting choices, maintenance, biodiversity, and community engagement.
Applications open from June 12 to June 23, with judging from June 26 to July 14.
A winners’ celebration event will be held in the autumn.

Councillor Louise Krupski, deputy mayor and cabinet member for environment, said: “I’m so thrilled to see the return of our fantastic Lewisham in Bloom competition.
“We have so many talented gardeners in Lewisham, it will be exciting to see the entries for each category.
“Our residents are at the heart of what we do to make our borough a greener and healthier place for everybody so this is a wonderful way to encourage biodiversity and beautiful gardens and containers right across our community.

The competition is open to residents, community groups, and businesses, recognising the borough’s talented gardeners.
