Around 9.30am today (April 24) police were called to the crash between a Ford Fiesta and bus.
The driver of the Ford and the driver of the bus were taken to hospital with injuries and later discharged.
A dog, believed to belong to the Ford driver, hurt its eye and was taken to the vet.
A 39-year-old man was arrested and placed into custody before being bailed while an investigation continues.
Lewisham High Street was closed while a crash investigation was carried out but has since reopened.
A Met spokesperson said: “At 09:22hrs on Thursday, 24 April, police were called to a collision in Lewisham High Street, SE13, between a Ford Fiesta and a bus.
“London Ambulance Service were called and attended.
“The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 39-year-old man was taken to hospital as a precaution and discharged.
“A dog, believed to belong to the man, reportedly suffered an eye injury and was taken to a vet for treatment.
“The driver of the bus was taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged. There were no reports of any further injuries.
“Road closures were in place while emergency services responded, but have since reopened.
“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
In a post on X, the Met wrote: “This morning part of Lewisham High Street towards station road was blocked due to emergency services attending an incident.
“This road is now back open and traffic flowing normally. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
