The Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Lewisham has applied for a freehold vesting order for 55 Vicars Hill under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.
The property is currently held on a lease dated June 5, 1926, according to the Public Notice Portal.
The lease was originally granted between William Jerrard and Percy Holmes, and Thomas H Sawyer and Sons Limited.
The council, which holds the leasehold interest, is seeking to acquire the freehold.
However, the application has been made to Bromley County Court after the council said it had been unable to give notice to the freeholder or landlord because their identity could not be established.
The public notice, published on November 5, states that any person claiming to be the freeholder or landlord of the property must confirm their interest in writing within 14 days.
Anyone with information that may assist in identifying the freeholder or landlord is also asked to contact the council’s solicitors.
The notice states: “Any person claiming to be the Freeholder/Landlord of the Property must confirm their interest as such, or any person with information which may assist in identifying the Freeholder/Landlord must provide that information, in writing to the Claimant’s Solicitors, within 14 days of the date of publication, and a postal and email address should be given for this purpose.”
The application has been made under section 27 of the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.
The council’s application is listed under claim number L01BR413.
Anyone wishing to respond should contact the Claimant’s Solicitors, FAO Kaileigh Moreton, at 141-145 Providence House, Princes Street, Ipswich IP1 1QJ, or by email at kaileigh-moreton@birketts.co.uk.
